A Rose Garden Kinda Day!

On Saturday afternoon David and I picked up his Daughter Bridgette and took her out for a few hours.

We took her to the Victorian Rose Garden in Werribee where she wandered around admiring all the different colours and scents of the roses capturing them on my phone as she went.

Throughout the day let her lead the way down and around the pathways and let her imagination run wild when talking about the different birds and insects she saw throughout the day.

We stopped in the middle of the park where we got some photos of Bridgette with her Daddy and where they could spend some one on one time together.

But it wasn’t too long before Bridgette had many questions for me about her Daddy and sharing little snippets of her life with her brothers.

She spoke about school, a boys, and called her Mum “precious” (which was so beautiful and validated) before asking more questions about Mummy and Daddy in which we answered the best we could for her.

One of the hot topics of the day was Dogs! Bridgette spoke of her grandmother and the dog dynamics happening at her house. It sounds complicated over there!

Bridgette asked for a photo with me this time and also one of our hands in the shape of a heart.

She asked us to send that one to her Mummy so she could show her in which later that night we did!

We ended the day with a play at the park where we sailed the 7 seas, fought off sea monsters and played shops before going to collect shells on the beach.

Bridgette said that sometimes her Mum tries to guess where she has been when spending time with us so she took a pocket full of shells and a flower home for clues to help Mum guess where she’d been!

One the way home we learned that Bridgette and her Dad also share a love of sour frozen drinks and skittles so we went past 7/11 before we dropped her home where she could take sour skittles home to share with her big brothers.

She was very excited!

It’s really beautiful to see David and his daughters bond and love and admiration for each other.

We are already planning something for the next time we see her!

Our beautiful blue eyed girl 💙

(The reason there are no photos of Bridgette with her Dad and I is because her mother has asked us to not post her face and we respecting her wishes. But we still want to document our special times together on here so that one day we can all look back on them together like I do now that my kids are all growing/grown up)
