A final message..

Going into 2019 and coming out of 2019 has been a bit awkward and surreal for me! Going into 2019 I couldn’t understand how a close friend I loved and cared a lot about could slander and say such horrible and hurtful things about me, how they could band together with others to curse my name and get on social media trigger others to hate on me. Throughout this year Carmen and I have mended our friendship, our families have become close again and I have forgiven her for all the hurt caused. As we leave 2019 behind we are bringing in the new year together, I am definitely not the same person I was! Hurt by everything that’s happened I’m still healing and still learning to trust. Not just this relationship but all of my relationships. If I have a piece of advice for anyone going into 2020, it would be to apologize to those you have hurt either by words or actions. You don’t realize the damage you do to someone you “hate” on.. and you don’t have to be best friends again, but maybe.. just maybe.. you’ll gain a piece of you that you were before! I know I did!

Dear Carmen, Thank you for your friendship, love and support throughout our whole friendship over the years! Thank you for all the little things you do for me and my family and for teaching me forgiveness! I’m so glad to be doing life beside you once again! I missed this.

Christmas Morning!

Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. For our family Christmas day is a day to give as he has given, love as he has loved and to remember all that he came to earth to do. What an amazing life we have because of the greatest gift the world has ever received. With thankfulness, this year more than any other year, I poured love and thoughtfulness into the four gifts each of my children received as a sign of how much I love and listen to them.

While they are just 4 small materiel things that they'd asked for throughout the year, they don't understand what I went through for them to wake up with such expensive and wanted gifts.

But what they do know is the gift of a family, of a home, of a bed and of a beautiful life such as the one they wake up to each and every day. Safety, security and unspeakable love we all share.

Praise be to Jesus!

Hiram's Primary School Graduation

To my one and only nephew, Master Hiram Hayes! I am so super proud of you and all that you have achieved since being in my care and attending BMPS! The kid you were is no longer and the kid you have become is someone others aspire to be! Your generosity, love for life, basketball flare and willingness to learn and succeed is something I hope you take with you in the next chapter of your life and beyond! There is nothing you cannot do my big nephew! Also just a big thank you to Hiram’s teachers, mentors, support people and the boys he has met along the way! He is 10x the kid he was because of you all, we love you and thank you!

Carols Hopping!

On the seventh day of Christmas we attended 'Carols at Enjoy' at the west campus with our friends Daz and Trace! We took snow peas, popcorn, veggie chips, carrot sticks, savoys and sugar snap peas with us to munch on as we sung and danced in our seats.

On the 8th day of Christmas we again met up with Darren and Tracy and also their son Liam. I convinced Carmen to come down which I'm so glad I did because she took the most amazing photos of the kids and I. Darrens friend Eziekial shouted us all dinner. Such a blessing. How beautiful are these photos of us all?..

The festivities have begun!

The 1st five days of our Advent are over already! Let me catch you up on what we have done so far..

So on the first day of Christmas we created a playlist! We included songs from Casting Crowns, Olivia Newton John, Martina McBride and Jewel.

The kids added songs from Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Kari Jobe, Amy Grant, Pentatonics and more!

So with day one done, we’re enjoying our Christmas tunes daily!

On the second day of Christmas I had the kids write out their Christmas Wishlist!

This year I am buying each of them something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read..

I loved Justine’s Wishlist the most! I’ll be laminating it and saving it forever, it was just perfect! (Justine, if you ever read this, go and look for it because I’ve kept it for us always to look back on!)

On the 3rd day of Christmas we got too busy to do our planned advent but helped a friend do theirs! Justine and Nevaeh helped Natalie and Jaspa-Eli make paper chains writing the names of the people they care about on each link!

Not only that, but Nevaeh helped Nat decorate a cute little Christmas tree tree for her 92yo grandmother!!

On the 4th day of Christmas Nevaeh made brownies using the ingredients she can eat (Nevaeh is on the FODMAP diet) while the rest of the kids enjoyed “trying” to build a gingerbread house! Needless to say, they decided to decorate and eat the gingerbread without it ever being a house!

And today, we did a Christmas treasure hunt with a twist!

I wrapped gifts up and hid them in the backyard, each of the kids took it in turns to go out and find a present! Hiram was first, scoring himself a massive box of Oreo cookies!!! Justine was next and found herself a DIY dream catcher!!! Nevaeh was after Justine finding a MASSIVE jar of Nutella!!! Jeanette (who video called in) got Janai to go out and find her gift to which she chose to open and got an Electric Buzz game! Jie was next choosing to steal Hiram’s Oreos leaving Hiram with a new gift to open. He opened a fan spray gun! Last of all Janai found the last gift but chose to take Nevaehs jar of Nutella! Nevaeh lost her shit, opened her gift with was a singing teddy and proceeded to winge, bitch and moan for the next hour and a half solid!

Here’s a few pics for us all to remember..
