Janai’s First Youth Girls Game

Janai played her first game along side the youth girls with the Bacchus Marsh Cobras last Monday. Up until this point she had only played 1 season with the Under 13 girls side and unbeknownst to Monique and Janai (when this picture was taken) these two had no idea that they would be voted Captain and Vice Captain for 2018. Hopefully these two amazingly talented girls will carry their team into the premiership! Janai played three games this week. She played with the youth girls on Monday, her U13 team on Friday then again with the youth girls today! She loves Footy and I love watching her play, encouraging her from the side line. I believe in this girl and know she will go far with her footy..

Family Time

Life can be so exhausting, repetitive, busy, stressful and in our home it can also make you feel boxed in. An average school term for us is go-go-go with the kids sporting, cultural, educational, faithful and social activities taking up a lot of our free time; so over these last school holidays I booked us a cabin for a few days only an hour up the road just to create a relaxing and carefree environment for us to take it easy. Because sometimes it’s not the destination that matters, it’s the time spent together, away from the norm. A chance to make memories and laugh and have fun.

It was nice just to get out of the same four walls, stay up late, eat ice creams, watch normal TV, play in the pool, sunbake, go out for dinner, sleep in a big bed, eat around a table together, have a drink knowing I didn’t have to be anywhere and listen to the kids laugh and play! On the 2nd day the girls went to an indoor trampoline place while the boys checked in to the local lazer tag centre. I caught a cold and was a little cranky but they still enjoyed their day of fun! My favourite part of the trip was cooking in a fully functioning kitchen. I cooked creamy potato bake and chicken satay! And the split system was amazing for our Melbourne weather! Air con during the day and heater at night. It really is the little things..

Easter 2018 🐣

Easter this year was pretty chill. The kids woke up early to find eggs around the lounge room, new PJs and dressing gowns, a cake in a mug for the older three kids and a hot chocoholic mug for the younger three. They got a carton of Humpty Dumpty Eggs, A big Caldbury egg and a Lindt bunny each!

On the days leading up to Easter we looked at why we celebrate and talked about the significance of Jesus. We watched the brutality of what happened to Him and celebrated with our Church on Easter Sunday! We did communion and Jie regave his heart to The Lord.

After church we took to the streets and gave bags of Easter Eggs to some kids hanging out at the Melton skate park, the Bacchus Marsh skate park and a few other places around our community!

With the left over bags we dropped into a friends place to spread some joy there also.

All in all, the kids had a great Easter 2018, check out this pic taken before church!!
