New Books..

Finally my book arrived today from the United States. [[$30 including delivery]] I have started using GoodReads to try to motivate me to read more and although I downloaded the E-book to my puter last month I wanted my own copy. I'm glad I did because I like reading all over the house. It's not possible to read my laptop on the toilet or in the bath, but a book - Easy as! I can't wait to get my nose into this one. I have heard only good things of it and really wanted to read it before the movie comes out. You can find the book info + the trailer here. Looks really good and I plan to beg Matt to take me to see the movie when it comes out.. how can he say no?!

In the books..

Last week Jiedyn brought his very first reader home. I was so excited for him and he wasted no time  in getting his head into his book! Today I had my first parent-teacher interview with his wonderful {Chrisian} teacher and was told of how eagar Jiedyn was to learn and how much pride he takes in his work and accomplishments!

As well as learning to read Jie has also embraced his letters and words. I was astounded the day he come home and could recignise an Ss by sight and tell me the sound it makes! To keep learning fun I ordered those fantastic Lunch Boxes {post here} and started incorporated the letter he was learning each week in his lunch box (eg. Mm for Milo Bar) Let me show you..
Tomorrows Tt theme (two fruits in jelly, custart tart & triangle tasty cheese toast..)

I love doing these so so so much.. that I even pack one for Nevaeh!

I am just loving Jiedyn's first year of school so far and am so super proud of him. Everyday he brings a new story home, something fun and exciting that just melts my heart. He is such a sweety and I can't wait to watch him grow before my eyes.

Lord I love him!

Yesterday engaged! Today, Baptized..

The lord is doing some pretty awesome things in our family right now. A year ago marriage meant nothing to me and while in the car with my Dad a few short weeks ago I told him I'd probably never get married.. I gave my heart to one man and even a year after being away from him, I was still praying that God would change his heart and bring him home. I felt torn when on the 13th of January Matthew told me he still loved me. I knew in heart I still loved him but couldn't put the words into my mouth. I was honest to everyone who meant something to me. I was honest to myself and Matt, my friends and family, but most of all to God. I felt my heart being torn.. But in the end I left it with God. I asked him to whole heartedly take my life and make it what he wanted. I remember saying "You know my heart like no one else does, if Matt is not the man you have planned for me then make me hate him with all my heart, if he is the one - the only one, make it happen" It was a massive step and look at us now! We're together, have a lot of love and support around us, we're engaged and getting married next month, we're happy, healthy and tonight we're baptized..
Mummy and Nevaeh getting ready.
Friends right by our side.
The boys ready to go.
Matt Baptised first.
Me excited and nervous.
I did it! Declared my love for the Lord today!
I'd just like to say a special thanks to all who came out to be with us on such an important event and most of all we'd love to thank Mr Mark Shilling for baptizing the both of us.. Mark and his wife Penny have been in my life for around four years, without them and other Christians brought into our life by Jesus there is no way we would be the people we are today. Thank you all and ultimately THANK YOU JESUS!

Homeschooling..

Defining 10am up until this point in our lives here would be one word - Sleep. With the exception of Sundays, at 10am while the rest of the world was busy Nevaeh, Jiedyn and I would all still be snug up in bed sound asleep.

Today is a brand new day, day three of Jiedyn attending a school he loves, day three of making breakfasts, packing bags and filling lunchboxes. And day three of getting acquainted with an ungodly hour of the day.

Today I embraced our morning and actually thanked the LORD as I rubbed my eyes open to a brand new day. I got up feeling tired but good, got the kids up, made breakfast, packed lunches, found socks {Which is harder than it sounds} walked Jie to school getting him a special toasty from Jolly Miller's and dropped him off. Before I could leave the class room he was in my arms telling me how much he was going to miss me. It was something truly beautiful which pierced my heart and had me smiling all the way home.

Since then I have been homeschooling my two year old..

A really neat idea!

One of the most messiest places in my house is my linen cupboard and I'm sure many of my readers know exactly what I'm talking about because we're all guilty of letting things go especially during the holiday period. But while browsing a few blogs last week I saw a really neat trick to keeping all matching bed linen on the one place..

By folding fitted sheets, doona covers, pillow cases etc. and putting it into the matching..
Ba-dah, dah damm - Pillowcase!!
This way, everything is neatly together ready for when you need it!!

How easy is that?

The Question on Everyones Lips!

As I walked through the school gates, extreme excitement filled my heart. The sight of kids of all sizes walking out of the school grounds, laughing, talking among-st one another. It was all becoming too real!

As I made my way to the pick up zone, there he was, unable to hide his excitement, scouring the sea of faces for a familiar face.

I said quitely - Jiedyn..

"MUM! I love School, I love School, I love School!" Jiedyn said jumping up and down.

I really wish I had have had the video camera with me, it was such a priceless moment.

We walked, we talked, his hand slipped into mine.

We stopped to grab a slushie and together we walked home!
