Our July

I really cannot tell you how good it is to have my nieces here with me. Watching them grow up into the two beautiful and respectful Aunty girls they have become has been an absolute honour. Jeanette and Justine, if you ever read this, please never change, you girls make me so proud and loved and make all the hard days worth it.

Early July, David, Justine and I met up with David’s best mate Long at Docklands for the Firelight festival. It was a cold night but we enjoyed seeing the many different displays and dinner together at Carls Junior.

Justine helped me cook one of her all time faves, mini pizzas for the whole family. She has always loved helping in the kitchen and the praise she received from everyone in the house made her feel so special!

After celebrating NAIDOC WEEK, I asked the cousins to join us for a family dinner at Stoney’s Restaurant in Bacchus Marsh. Having the family all together again was significant and it was nice to be able to spoil and love on my family.

So, for the very first time, myself and the KIRRIP mob went to the NAIDOC BALL. Here are some pics of our beautiful night together..

The following weekend it was again “family time” and so I thought I’d treat the kids to a game of bowling..

After another stressful week of work, David and I ventured into the city once again to watch Melbourne Storm play.

The night before David and his best mate Long went to watch Wolfe Brothers at Macs Hotel in Melton.

Mid week, Justine, Nevaeh and my tickets to Queensland came in
.. We are off to QUEEENSLANNND!! - more on this on a separate post..

On my actual birthday, the 27th of July I met up with David for lunch. Being it was my birthday, I decided to get fish n chips. Koula and Johnny whom own Melton Seafoods have known me for as long as I have been in Melbourne. They have watched me grow and raise my little family and have been like second parents to me. I knew that’s where I wanted to be celebrating my first birthday without my Dad.

I was spoiled by the kids. Jie used his own money to buy me a beautiful pink rose and a box full of goodies and I bought a cake from the cheesecake shop after work that day. I felt so loved by my little fam bam.

More on the rest of our July on my next post..

My Birthday Weekend

This birthday has been a tough one, let’s not sugar coat it. Getting by in life with nobody by your side cheering you on and picking you up the way my Dad always has it so so tough. I was however touched by how many friends/family/colleagues wished me a happy birthday. Over 70 messages in total. Not bad for my 34 years of life, so many precious memories and so many more to come with all of you.

But what really set this birthday apart was my David, I  have been absolutely spoiled this year! He got us a hotel I’ve always wanted to stay at in the city, took me to see a movie of my choosing at gold class, and booked dinner at point cook!

The kids got me candles, a necklace, a ring and chocolate! David got me a new Garmin watch and I also won $750 at the pokies last night (could be Dad watching over me).

Thank you all for your kind words and for being there for me, loving on me and supporting me through various parts of my life. I really do appreciate the pure love and joy each of you have bought to my life.

Our June

Took a photo of my boys having a moment.

The first weekend of June we travelled into the city to meet David’s best friend of 27 years.

That Saturday night I headed out with my girls to the local and also ran into my eldest neicy noo!

June was the beginning of me running my own programs including an aboriginal elders yarning circle.

State of Origen first game was sensational, it took me a while to come down from the high!

While Justine enjoyed a pizza and pyjama night at Girl Guides, the kids, David and I enjoyed a night out for dinner just the 4 of us..

June was also the month we sadly said goodbye to Suman whom played a crucial role in the beginning of our Aboriginal health programs. We wish her the very best as she ventures on in her career..

Justine enjoyed a movie night sleepover on the couch. With a big bag of popcorn in hand, look at that smile xx

June also saw my middle niece Janai and I on our first double date. Hitting crown and then docklands was kinda cute to just hang out..

After hitting a bit of a low mid June, David and I booked a hotel at our home away from home in Werribee. With a spa bath, sports channels and Uber eats, we enjoy just being by ourselves even if it’s just for one night away from the kiddos.

But after relaxing it’s back to reality and juggling work, family and a relationship again..

Towards the end of the month we visited David’s Mum and best friend again this time going out for dinner at the Wantirna Club. While the boys played pokies Justine and I took selfies xx

After the hustle and bustle of shopping then cooking dinner after work and after the dishes, washing, readers and showers are done and the kids are settled, David and I like to spend time (when we have the energy to) bowling. Anytime with just him and I always makes me feel so special. He’s my everything.

With winter setting in I believe it’s time for a holiday so not only have I booked a weekend away next month but I’m also in the process of getting my passport! I cannot wait to travel with friends and with my fam bam! It’s been a journey to get to where I am in life and so I’m embracing every opportunity that comes my way..
