Christmas Advent Day Three

This morning I was up at the crack of dawn and then back to bed and then up again an hour later and then back to sleep again. I think all in all between the heat of our bedroom (as we go into our 19th year with no air conditioning), my sleep apnea and my body rejecting anything I eat at the moment I had around three hours sleep again last night.

I had the electrician come right before nine this morning to do safety checks and change my smoke alarms so for a good hour as he did that our dog Max barked and barked which went right through me. I felt like a zombie.

After he left I set up the kids Advent for today on the kitchen table..

Today’s Advent was to write Christmas Cards to family and friends.

As I was out most of the day working, when I returned home I could see that the kids had obviously opened some cards and almost all the envelopes had “Merry Christmas” written on them.

Opening just the to card to see who it was addressed to the card read “Merry Christmas Stranger and a Happy New Year!”

Confused I went into Nevaehs room as Jie was at work. She told me that her and Jie enjoyed doing today’s advent together before he left.

When asking who they wrote the cards out for she started laughing hysterically! (My girl cannot keep a secret, especially from me!”)

Nevaeh proceeded to tell me that they only wrote in the top card and that although they put the other cards in the envelopes, they were all blank.

She said “ Jie told me to at least write in the top card just in case Mum checks”.. and too right, I fell for it!

So.. although Christmas Cards were on today’s Advent-ure! I was the only one to write out the cards this year while David and the kids again enjoyed their Chocolate Eclairs!
