Day 2: Wet 'n Wild on the Gold Coast

Waking up to a complementary Buffet Style Breakfast on the first morning was something none of us had ever expected or experienced. There was cereals, porridge, granola, eggs three different ways, 5 types of breads you toast yourself, muffins, croissants, other puff pastry treats, fresh fruit, salad, pancakes, bacon, sausages, cold meats, cheeses, three types of fruit juices, ice cream, two coffee machines, every type of tea you could ever want, fried rice, soup and a chef taking requests on Omelets made fresh in front of you!

It truly was an experience of its own.

After breakfast we packed my duffel bag with towels and everything we would need for our first theme park of the trip - Wet 'n Wild!

The day began with us waiting in the heat as our bus from the hotel to the theme park was late due to backing into two parked cars out front of our hotel.

We took the opportunity to take some photos before we left:

The excitement began once we were on the bus as you can see in this pic:

Once at Wet 'n Wild, we went to the gift shop to buy a Wet 'n Wild hat, bought Jie a pair of Billabong Board shorts and three bottles of water for our drink bottles. We hired a locker to keep all our belongings safe, put sunscreen on and then walked the theme park to look around.

The kids waited over an hour in a line but left it after another girl in the line got heat stroke and so we set ourselves by the Lazy River after grabbing a bite to eat and a cool drink:

It was a busy day at the park with Schoolies (Year 12 graduates) and a school of grade 5 students entering the slides ahead of those waiting.

I opted for the splash park and then the spa's.

The kids finally did the lazy river but Nevaeh jumped off to do the spa's.

Jie finally at the end of the day did a few slides which I was super proud that he did.

Nevaeh enjoyed "The vibe" beside the lazy river, eating ice-cream and relaxing the afternoon away.

It was a big day for us all so we ordered in back at the hotel and Nevaeh fell asleep before the order even came so Jie had two dinners!

We also ate Churros while watching Big Brother to top off a great day!
