Today, as part of our first advent, we put up our Christmas Tree and Christmas Decorations.
Early hours of this morning, I fluffed out the Christmas tree from last year and started prepping for todays festivities while watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
The kids ended up coming out into the lounge room while I was prepping decorations.
Jie hung the star and then I took it down to add the lights.
Soon they each started grabbing at the decorations and putting them on.
I think this may be the first year I don't have pics of them hanging ornaments onto our tree.
So then Nevaeh hung the star at the end.
I finished preparing the advent calendar for this year at around 1am.
Over the last few years we haven't done chocolate Advents, only opening activities to do.
But this year Jie begged to have Chocolate in our homemade family advent Calendar.
And so I have added Cadbury Chocolate Eclairs into each.
Every Day they will look through a bag to find that days Advent.
Inside will be a chocolate eclair, a puzzle to solve and a hand written note with the advent-ure of that day for us to do.
I have kept some much loved traditions, but have also added a few newbies!

Your house looks lovely and so festive. We used to do both chocolate and activity advents too since I liked the family activities and the boys always wanted chocolate.
