Family Fun Night at Darley Primary School

Last Friday we were invited to attend Alicia's Family Fun Night hosted by Darley Primary School.

We caught a maxi taxi to Uncle Al's place picking up one of the girls besties on the way. From there we walked over to the school and enjoyed a night of rides, carnival games, stalls and competitions. The boyed enjoyed the haunted house while the girls likes the fairy room the best.

We had a really good night overall and afterwards we went back to Uncle Al and Bel's place for dinner!

Here are some photos of our night out..

It's Holiday Time - December 14

Forgive me for being slack with photos this year. My phone was flat and I forgot to charge my camera battery. But I tell ya what.. I enjoyed this years songs better than last years. Hiram's grade was first and they danced the night away with Cant Stop the Beat. Nevaeh was next with I like To Move It  and Jie's grade was straight after her's with The Candyman Can. He held a yellow candy cane. It was very cool. Hiram was two rows from the back in his performance so I couldn hardly see him but he had fun and Nevaeh was front and centre rocking it out just like her Mama would if she was up there. So proud of each and all of them it was a great little night out.

A Dedication

I'm dedicating this brand new year to my Nana Jeanette Standing (Hester) and I am not taking it lightly. She would have wanted to see us live well, achieve well and to be happy and healthy. Our Nana-Nette would want us to raise our children (her great grandchildren) with love and selflessness and to love each other immensely. This year I feel sorry for my sister and brother. Because as much as they would love to have me take a back seat in their lives I'm going to be involved like a full force gail. Each of them have never had the luxury of parents to keep them accountable, praise them when they're doing well or to help them when we're mucking up or going off the rails. But that changes now!! That may have been the way of life for the past 10 plus years but not this year! I'm not only making this year about me and my goals.. I'm going to do my complete and utter best to ensure that when 2016 hits us, we're all thriving towards being better individuals and encouraging one another to succeed! This is what Nana would have wanted!

Happy 25th Uncle Al..

Last night we celebrated my brother's birthday here at home.
Pizza and birthday cake were consumed.
 A card and money given.
Kids happily played out the back.
Laughter and love warmed the living room.
It was amazing to see my brother looking so well.
And happy!

Thankful he came so we could spoil him a little..
Happy Birthday Al..

A peaceful afternoon..

Today , after school, the kids and I went with my brother for a swim. A few days before he came across a beautiful goose and took photos to show me. Today we got to see this marvelous creature as well as swim only meters away from it..

At the end of our swim, the kids and I went to pose for a few photos before we were interrupted by a whirring dragonfly which, by the photo below, must have caught all of our eyes before the photo of all three of us..

It was an amazingly peaceful afternoon..

Three Days, Two Nights..

 Day 1
We set off for a small adventure to my brothers house in Ballarat.
Two buses and a train later we arrived excited and ready for some fun!
The kids played out the back before dinner.
Nevaeh lost her shoe in the massive backyard of waist high grass.
It was awesome to see them so free and just being kids!
For dinner we ordered fish 'n chips and the kids went to bed early.
They were exhausted from the train trip!
Allan, Meagan and I stayed up until 3am talking and messing around.
It was exactly what I needed.

Day 2.

Day two started at 7am!
The kids woke up and had breakfast, cheese on toast.
All day the kids we're snacking and being spoilt by they're Uncle.
After pies for lunch we headed out side to play hide and seek.
Before dinner my brother and the kids baked a cake.
After that we played four square.
They ate all of they're chicken, chips and gravy for a piece after dinner!
The kids went to bed after big brother.
I took advantage of my brothers spa after watching big brother and cleaning up after tea.
Accompanied by bubbly and chocolate!
I fell asleep feeling so relaxed before 10pm.
Allan stayed up installing game-droid onto my phone so I could play Mario.

Day 3.

Kids were up at first light.
They couldn't wait to get outside and play and did so straight after breakfast.
Yoga came on the telly and both the kids were soon copying!
After yoga came milkshakes!!
We left around lunchtime for the trip home.
Because Nevaeh lost her shoes, she scored a new pair from Big W.
I got a little crazy in Big W buying the kids clothes, shoes and toys!
For the train ride home the kids got a special treat..
Chewing Gum!!

Pizza Hut with Uncle Al

Last night I promised Jie I'd take him somewhere he'd never been before. He said excitedly "Like China?" I shook my head, "Like Asia?" I shook my head again "Just go to sleep, you'll see in the morning."

We get into Ballarat today and Jie turns to me and asks "Do people here speak our language?" Bahahahaha! After explaining we were in Ballarat he saw his Uncle Al and said "It never gets this cold in Australia!"

We escaped the cold with some shopping where the kids could each pick out two items. Jie picked a warm but stylish jacket and a ninja skivy while Nevaeh (being a typical girl) choose three very girly jumpers. I must say, my children have great taste..

Just before 12pm we set off up Bakery Hill to Pizza Hut. The rest of the day was captured..

My kids do love they're Uncle Al..
It was a fabulous day minus the icy weather.

Camping at Lake Cairn Curran

This is why I love blogging, I love capturing the kids firsts and documenting our lives especially when we're away from home.

We spend the morning trying to find our way around the Malmsbury and Laurinston Reservoir's near Kynton before finding a notice board which indicated that the lakes were full of Blue Green Algae.

We loaded up arriving at Lake Cairn Curran a little before 12pm.

The guys baited the lines up
and within 5 minutes of Jiedyn tossing his rod out he was helping me reel it in catching himself his very first fish - A baby red fin.
We casted the rods in again before I found a soft surface to pitch our tent and lay out our beds,
while the others gathered fire wood for the fire that would cook our dinner and keep us warm.

After the camp was set up we all went to fish in our desired spots,
Uncle Al and Meagan posed for this gorgeous shot with the river behind them,
Then Uncle Al gave Jiedyn his first lesson in yabbies.

As the sun was going down I took the opportunity to head off on my own for a bit.

When the sun went down, there was no moon in sight making the tapestry of stars look breathtaking and the fire and our faces glow.
